The most popular golf driver in 2011 is the Taylor Made R11 Driver. It has been developed to provide the most innovative technology in adjustable golf drivers. You can totally optimize your driver to get the best out of your swing and more consistent drives.

With the Taylor Made R11, you will get the Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP), The Flight Control Technology (FCT) and the Moveable Weight Technology (MWT)

Adjustable Sole Plate (ASP)

The Adjustable Sole plate allows you to change the face angle from more opened to closed (by 2 degrees) without changing the loft of the driver.

Flight Control Technology (FCT)

The R11 Driver Flight Control Technology (FCT) allows you to increase or decrease the loft (launch angle) by one degree. There are 8 different FCT settings that allow you to change loft in .5 degree increments. In each adjustment you will change the face angle and the spin rate as well.

Moveable Weight Technology (MWT)

The Moveable Weight Technology will change the center of gravity with the driver. You can promote a draw or neutral ball flight by changing the location of the 10g weight. Put the weight at the heel for a draw ball flight and put it in the toe for more neutral ball flight.

The White Color of the R11 Crown and Black Face

This color combination surprisingly works really well to provide you with an easier way to aim. The face contrast provides a more vivid view of the ball and white crown is non-glare so it doesn’t shine back into your eyes.

Overall, this driver has 48 settings that you can tailor to truly optimize your swing. And one of the best parts, is that once you know how to change the settings its very easy to tweak. For example, other adjustable golf drivers are a hassle because you have to unscrew the club head from the shaft, with the R11 you don’t have to. With the R11 you can keep the loft of the club the same and its just easier to unscrew the bottom plate to adjust the club face to more opened or closed.

The one thing I didn’t like about the driver was that the small Taylormade logo on top of the crown was about a quarter inch lower from the sweet spot and center of the club face, in my opinion. I am not sure if this is just personal preference, but after realizing the location for me was a little off, I was able to account for it and get my sweet spot aligned.

The bottom line is that this is hands down one of the best drivers in 2011 and really takes it up a notch in customization, nice work Taylor Made!
